tricia4@home.com Beaches Royal Plantation 11-24 thru 12-1-01 We flew out of Philadelphia for a 7:30am flight. We arrived at the airport and there was probably 40 people in line checking in for coach. Lucky for us we booked first class and there was only one couple in our line so we only waited a couple minutes to check in and then went right through security. This only took a couple of minutes because no one checked our bags…we waited to board in the tavern because the first class lounge has been closed since Sept 11th….First class is really worth it. You board first, you get off first and you get your bags first so every moves very quickly. On our flight home, same story. Went right through no problems, no one checked our bags at MoBay or Philadelphia.

Ride to and from Beaches Royal Plantation: We arrived in Mobay about 11:00 and the Beaches representative came over to us and gave us our card indicating our resort. To my surprise our sweet travel agent had a Bouqet of flowers wishing us good luck on our Wedding. We drove to the resort with another couple that was on our flight. We got beers at the airport and then made a stop halfway to the resort to use the restrooms and get more beer. The ride was not bad at all. We had a very cautious driver and the van looked pretty new so this was not a terror ride….On the way back different story. Driver was a little careless passing other drivers and road seemed bumpier, but the van was also older.

The Resort: We arrived at the resort and as everyone has said even though the pictures are great you really have to see it in person. It is absolutely breathtaking. Beautiful flowers all through out the resort. Butterflies flying all over. Peacocks walking around. It is very elegant. We were greeted with cold towels and champagne. We gave them our credit card info and they showed us to our room. We were uprgraded to a luxury suite, we booked deluxe. The resort appeared pretty full when we arrived. The rooms were also beautiful with mahagony furniture, sitting area, walk-in closets and four poster bed.

Food: I would rate all the food excellent. French – I did not really care for the set menu but the food was good Bayside - We had flambé 2 nights and that was quite a show. We also had Lobster, Crab tempura, all the soups were delicious. Pepper Steak etc…Everything was delicious. Beach grill - was great. Quesadillas, Jamaican patties, ribs, etc…

Watersports: We did the aqua bike, sea kyaks, and snorkeling – lots of fun

Wedding: The wedding was perfect. Everything went very smooth. We had the basic wedding because we booked when the wedding was still free. They decorated the area we chose to marry which was the gazebo outside the bayside. Flowers were beautifully. Everything was very romantic.

Spa Services:

Excellent

I got my hair done for the wedding and they did a great job 2hours later( I have long hair and they curled every little strand) I also got a massage and the seaweed body wrap w/hydrotherapy bath. Which were calming and relaxing.

Service Exceptional, we did not have to wait for anything…Food and service was always prompt along with room service..You just sit on your beach chair or pool chair. Waitress comes to you asking can I get you anything, And then when you are done you just leave and they clean up the mess. Also as soon as you arrive at the beach they ask you can I get you a towel, etc….You can sit in the Jacuzzi and they will bring you bottles of champagne…whatever you want they bring you.

Side Excursions We visited Dunns River Falls….we opted to get the video and is was worth every bit of the $30. We had a blast. Just don’t bring any valuables because you have to leave your bags at the top.

All in all the experience was magnificent. I could not have asked for a better or more romantic wedding and honeymoon. Food, Service & Resort are really top of the line. This place is really a gem..
