Beaches Royal
It was our second
trip to
ago at Grand Lido Negril). I had a wonderful time at Royal
Plantation. The
service and food was outstanding. We were greeted by the servers on the
beach at
day. The food service at the restaurants and room service was
outstanding.
However the room service menu never changes. The beach party buffet on
Monday night was delicious if you love seafood. The resort does not
have
the night life of the bigger resorts and is therefore much more romantic.
We took walks on the pier almost every night and usually were by ourselves.
We learned to Scuba Dive easily with the resort's instructor Daniel. He
was
a very patient and safe instructor. If you have any interests in Diving,
the resort takes several trips daily. Make sure you take the free tour to
We visited the Restaurant at
which was a lot of fun and allowed us to taste several different entrees in
the same meal. The Ocho Rios Sandals was way too crowded for our liking,
and
the servers were a little rude there. Take advantage of visiting the
other
resorts--the transfers were convenient (came every hour) and took us back to the
resort as soon as we asked, and of course is
included(You could take your
drinks from the resort on the shuttle bus).
We did have a cocharoche (how do you spell it??
La cukaracha??) on two
different nights. The first the doorman "Elvis" killed for
us and, no lie,
it was 2 inches long. He laughed at us and called it a small one. The
second kept us awake for hours the night before we went home. There are
no
screens on the doors and windows, so there’s no helping it from getting in
from the outside. I wouldn't hesitate to tell the staff if they appear.
The spa was wonderful. My husband and I went several days to the steam room,
which is free. Two times they let us go in together (once on the female,
once on the male side) because they were slow. I heard their massages are
wonderful. They have a couples one hour massage for $120.00, which we
wanted to do.
